Meet Hookah, the bull behind the brand

Toro means bull, so we went looking for a real one.

The photo contest

We held a photo contest, with a $250 prize, to find a bull worthy of our first van. Hookah took it. As the Toro fleet grows, more bulls will join him on the road.

Hookah is a brindle Texas Longhorn owned by Kelsey Taylor, whose family has farmed in Northern Alberta for generations, raising Longhorn and Longhorn–Angus cross cattle. Kelsey describes him as athletic and protective of his herd.

He was one of the original bulls the family started their herd with in 2022. These days a younger bull named Lil Bub has taken over most of the breeding duties, and Hookah has a new job: riding around Calgary on the side of a van.
